Homeopathy is a science of medicine that is based on the principles of “like cures like” and “minimal dose”.  It is based on principles of physics, rather than the  chemistry  of  pharmaceutical drugs.

The State of Arizona is one of three states which licenses homeopathic physicians.  One must have an active M.D. or D.O. license to qualify for  application to the Arizona State Board of  Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine Examiners.

Hypocrites, the father of medicine, recorded his belief in the “like cures like” principle.  This means that a substance that causes certain symptoms, when diluted down to a minimal dose and administered, blocks or cancels out the same symptoms.  This is what homeopathy is. It can be seen in use in the allergist’s office, where diluted allergens like ragweed, are injected to stimulate the body’s ability to handle exposure to the allergen, like ragweed pollen, without producing symptoms.

Highly diluted substances derived from animal, plant, mineral and pathogenic sources become remedies to treat or cure all types of acute and chronic conditions.  The Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States was first published in 1897.  The FDA recognizes homeopathic remedies as official drugs and regulates their manufacturing, labeling and dispensing.

The World Health Organization has cited homeopathy as one of the systems of traditional medicine that should be integrated worldwide with conventional medicine in order to provide adequate global health care in the 21^st century.

In Britain, homeopathic hospitals and out-patient clinics are part of the national health system, and homeopathy is recognized as a postgraduate medical specialty by virtue of an act of Parliament.  Homeopathy has also enjoyed the patronage of the British royal family for the past four generations.  It is understood that Prince Charles and the Queen are both supporters of homeopathy.
